Anyone telling you that is selling you.  Period.

These bottom feeding con artists leveraging your inexperience and hope and passion.

Ah, I feel better and you just saved a few thousand bucks, or more.

Networking is just like any other occupation, it requires we learn a few skills.

Want to be a better software writer, butcher, flower arranger?

What would you do?

Learn some skills, practice the skills and put them in play.  Improve with repetition.

It’s not that winners do certain things, it’s that they do things in a certain way.

That one statement changed my career.

How?

Simple.  Our industry was over 40 years old when I joined, what works and what does not was pretty well mapped out.

If we are going to make some money, we need to talk to people.  While the inter-webbie thing has made some things better, [and a lot of things worse - con artist playground, for 1], in the end we’ve got to talk to people.  It’s easy once you know the skills and, honestly, you’ve been networking, telling people about stuff you like, your whole life.  This I learned and relaxed.  But…….

But I noticed people at higher pin seemed to have some things, just like any other business, in common.

When I questioned good friend and mentor Tony Bowling he dropped the phrase, “It’s not that winners do certain things, it’s that they do things in a certain way.”

“And?”  I asked.

“Notice.” he said.

So I did.  And I found out they do 3 things over and over and over after they learn the skills.

And things got better.

I kept noticing.

I noticed the really big earners, like I wanted to be, not only did these 3 things, the also rarely did anything else.

Over 600 people a day want to know how to create leads.

That’s 18,000 a month.

I was not stunned by the question showing up in the top 15, I was stunned by the number of people who asked.

Heard about people making tons of dough with a lead generating system in an MLM?

Really?

Not people who say they do.....but actual 'see the check' from a primary company one of these people is actually earning?

The truth is I got nothing against the folks pitching leads/lead generation systems.....that is not the sad part for me.

The sad part is so any people are buying .....something that will never, ever get them close to success.

In April or May of 2004 I sat down with my wife, The Fabulous Davene, her 2 teenage daughters, a friend of mine and 2 couples.

We did a little name-game for about and hour or so, ate some pizza I ordered in and some salad.

It netted me 337 names.  I was still cashing checks from another company [never believed in 'herding' folks from deal to deal] so I started from scratch.

I paid my dues in learning and mastering a couple network marketing skills and in 9 months became a Top 50 earner with a company of over 1,000,000 reps, building a group to over 9800 active people.

It was built just like all my top earner friends from warm market-to-warm market.

How?  How do you go from warm-to-warm so easily?

List building is a lost art….my biggest leadership tip is to learn ‘how to’ get at the warm list.   It’s a skill.

How Do I Get Posture?  8th Most Asked FAQ by MLMers A PET PEEVE OF MINE

I can always tell when a rep has been listening to angry uplines or gurus when it comes to posture…..yet it was no surprise to see this question in the 15 most commonly asked questions.

And it really drives me nuts…for a lot of reasons, it’s a pet peeve of mine.

Why?

I know I’ve got a lot of work to do with the person……and changing people’s minds is hard work once they’ve been hurt and feel they’ve found a solution.

WE GOT THE COOKIE!

What the hell does that mean anyway?

Cookies Are For Sharing, Not Punishing

All these ‘expert opinions’ always have this nonsense phrase in their speech…..you know?

The teachers, [ahem] of posture always want to come from this militant attitude that we’ve got what they need, they are doomed to a terrible life working for someone else, we can help them get ‘free’ of the 9-5 bondage……get tough….realize what you have……grrrrrrrrrrr!

Wait, there is more nonsense.  More get tough with prospects, how good we have it, how bad their life is and how the need us more than we need them.

It is so off base on so many levels that it’s hard to know where to start.

PEOPLE ALWAYS KNOW 2 THINGS

  1. They know if you are having a bad day
  2. They know if you are lying

Pretending that we have posture is a lie.

The ‘us’ against ‘them’ mentality is just a miserable way to build this business, so is thinking we are or what we have is superior.

And, it’s a huge turn-off.

Once we’ve got that attitude, we’re screwed.

Our success, ultimately is based of service to others and people respond to authentic service and not, “I got the cookie, you life working for others sucks, you need me.”

It is contrary to the greatest thing we offer everyone: a chance to do better by being in humble service.

POSTURE IS IMPORTANT

Huh?

How can I say that after that rant?

You’ve got to get authentic posture.

Fake or puffed up posture not only gets you nowhere, if actually prevents you from getting authentic posture.

By learning what to do and what to say you can get 80% + to look at your business.  Its easy once you have the skill.

Now instead of having a hair-trigger and taking it away from people, which only leads to less prospects, you have a ‘pipeline’ that is bursting.

AUTHENTIC POSTURE

Show me someone with 500 names and numbers AND 40 people this week reviewing information who they’ve booked a follow-up with and I will show you someone who has posture.

Do you think some of the 40 would come in? [No, not being a wise-ass or asking a trick question :-)]

Would you care who came in or didn’t?  Of course not.

That is posture, authentic posture.

You really don’t care because you’ve learned how to get a yes, it’s a simple networking marketing skill, and you know next week you can get 40 more to happily look.

Do The People At The Top Make All The Money? 9th Most FAQ by Prospects

YOU”RE IN IT FOR THE MONEY?

It’s really amazing how many people who talk about dreams, helping others, etc., ask this question.

That should tell you something.  MKMMA

What?

Common sense isn’t so common, eh?

People join MLMs and get active for the money.

Sure, we love the product and want to help other get their dreams to manifest……but people join and get active in the recruiting-sponsoring game for the money.

So I loved seeing that question pop up when I did my research on the 15 most commonly asked questions because hiden within the question is the clincher over the great debate.

It’s about money and that is great……OK,OK, I am not being cynical or morally high and mighty……I know the money is for a better life, less stress, more freedom.

But it is priceless information to glean from the question……

The point?

It’s not only OK to talk about money, you’ll do better if you do.

Why?

It’s why people join.

WHAT GOES THROUGH THE PROSPECTS HEAD

Network marketing success depends on being able to teach network marketing skills.

It gets really easy….and yes…..I am carving a path to the question, “Do the people at the top make all the money?”…….anyway it is really easy to understand the skills we need to learn if we know what goes through the prospects head.

They want to know 3 things…..   MKMMA

  1. Can I make money?
  2. What would I have to do?
  3. Can I do it?

What does this have to do with, “Do the people at the top make all the money?”

THE ANSWER IS IN THE QUESTION

Once you know what goes through a prospects head…..you can be at the “TOP” of a huge organization, a top earner.

MKMMA The people who make the BIG money built a large organization that they are at the top of……unlike corporate America….where the people at the top do make all the money and you have to wait for people to die AND know someone to move up….here, you can join a company 5, 10 or 20 years old [or older], and become the top earner.

You will be at the ‘Top’ of your organization, good, bad or indifferent.  People with skills who understand what goes through the prospects head make lots of money.

The rest?  They don’t.  They think it’s about timing, luck, the company, when they got it…..they simply don’t do the work that matters.

Worrying about what others make or if you got in early enough is a fear based childish response to a dream, in essence a day dream.

Any reason you shouldn’t be at the “TOP” of a huge organization?

IT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR

Every year people join older companies and hit the top of the payplan.

People who got in early to the right deal don’t do any better than people who get in 5 years later, and, that is a fact.

The success and failure rate is based on understanding this is a skill based business, learning the networking marketing skills that will drive income and …..this is BIG…..learning the skill to become an effective teacher-coach-motivator.

The people that learn what to say and do and teach it will make the most money and, as it should be, find themselves on the ‘TOP” of the business that they built.

The great ones realize their long term income is directly proportional to the success [re:size of the checks], of people in their group, they learn how to accelerate the success of other.

So yes, the people at the “TOP” make all the money…..but…..the people who go broke are also at the “TOP”…..we just have to decide if we want to be at the “TOP” of something special we need to be at the “TOP” of our game by learning skills and teaching them effectively.

And they stay at the “TOP” if they continue to help others get bigger checks than themselves.

The Law of Diminishing Intent Slowing You Down? 4 Steps to Prevention

THE LAW OF DIMINISHING INTENT

MKMMA Most Laws of the Mind are pretty complicated or have several levels of meaning….not this one.
Pretty simple.
The Law of Diminishing Intent?
The longer you wait to do something the less enthusiasm you will have for it.
Look, whether your brand new to MLM and just learning some network marketing skills, a stalled veteran or a top leader, we are all vulnerable to the Law of Diminishing Intent.
Someone pops in our head that we forgot about and we think….”Oh, Hank…geez, he’d be good at this, I gotta give him a call,”…..or we remember a whole group of people…..or we get the idea to just knock on 20 doors a day……and we are excited.  It’s 9 o’clock at night, it’s a good idea and we are looking forward to tomorrow.
Visions of sugar plums dance in our head as we head off to bed, imagining a whole vein of prospects from this one idea.
We are EXCITED::::>We have INTENT.
With each passing hour the next day, as ‘life’ happens to us….kids need a ride to school, politics in your organization, customer service challenge…..comforting a rep who just got discouraged…..our enthusiasm wanes…..and right there……right at that spot, the Law of Diminishing Intent rears it’s ugly head; it moves, quickly from being a great idea to something we need to get around to and excitement is gone.
Most of these ideas never get executed…..so sad.
A good idea is worth, according to franchise consultants, about a buck……a plan to put it in play?  Millions.
In network marketing, as much as any other business, the Law of Diminishing Intent is a back breaker.
Why?
Most people don’t realize, unlike Master Key Master Mind Alliance fans (MKMMA), that we are establishing a habit….and everybody knows habits are not easy to break, Ut-Oh.
We set a pattern up that makes Henry Ford right, again…..”You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do
Usually, within a few days, we’ve forgotten all about the idea, the Law is validated, yet again.  So sad.  :cry:
Here are 4 Leadership Tips that work

4 KEYS TO PREVENTION
1. Write it down, right now.
MKMMA The excitement with this ideas needs to be defined, so write it down.
I’ve always got a little notepad in my pocket, they cost about a buck, made me a lot of money.
The old saying…..”If it isn’t written it isn’t true,” is dead on.
Write it down.
It’s very cool to look back at about a months worth of these ideas…..and it becomes a habit, thinking creatively for solutions.
The writing down of ideas always leads to more ideas.
Each idea, no matter how great, is worth about a buck.
Here’s how to convert it to cash and eliminate those ugly, self-esteem crushing moments of hesitation that become the invitation to the Law of Diminishing Intent.
2.  Schedule time to think about it within 24 hours.
Sometimes we get the idea away from home, write it down and when you get home schedule time to think about it, 5 minutes is good.
Sometimes we get the idea at home…..write it down and schedule time to think about it.
Why write it down [step 1] if you can just schedule time to think about it?
MKMMA Habit, form good habits …..we are our habits and plugging something into a formula – WITHOUT SKIPPING STEPS – will establish the habit in your mind of ‘how to’ bring an idea to fruition ….and nothing will pay greater dividends than the habit of and idea that you know how to manifest.  Routine in something that works and builds self esteem is a priceless asset so follow the formula.
Sit still for 5 minutes focused on the idea…..enthusiasm is something we feed or we starve to death…..feed it in those 5 minutes.
3. Schedule a time to do it.
The difference between knowing what to do and doing it is whether or not we schedule it.
So you are scheduling two things…..a time to think about it and the precise time you will do it.
4. Do it
Do it at the precise time you scheduled yourself to do it.
Complete the cycle of these 4 steps…..all our ideas won’t work out but they all work.
Huh?
Confidence is magic.  It’s the fuel that momentum runs on.
Where does self confidence really come from?
Achievement?  No, hardly.
It comes from self esteem and nothing builds it or destroys it faster than ourselves…..
The truth is those tiny moments of hesitation not only open the door for the Law of Diminishing Intent, they undermine our self esteem.
On the other hand the thrill of putting an idea in play with this easy 4 step formula builds our self esteem….to create an idea, big or small, think about it, schedule it and bring it to life, over and over, is what builds self esteem and awakens the sleeping giant within all of us.

Network Marketing Skills – Mom Taught Me Everything

Mom doesn’t know anything about Network Marketing ……I think when she asks me how my business is going.

I think she doesn’t understand it …..maybe it’s me that doesn’t understand.

MOM taught me everything I needed to know to build a network marketing business, she gave me network marketing skills.

Mother’s Day.  Don’t we all feel like we should do a little more all year for Mom?

Would it really kill us to go to Mom’s house and leave the cell phone in the car, have a cup of coffee and just be ‘present’?

Can’t make up for the past, you know, all those times we’re a ‘little to busy’ to just visit?

She was never too busy for me.

Don’t we all feel like we like we could all do a little more recruiting?

Would it really kill us to sit at our desk an hour a night and dial the phone and be ‘present’?

She was patient.  Persistent.  Insistent.

She never quit when I struggled.  Never.

Yeah, she made me read the directions, sit there while I read them…..and answered a lot of the same questions over and over.

Asked me if I understood them and then she showed me how to do things right….no matter how many times it took.

She taught me skills.

Am I a hands on teacher or do I just ‘plug’ them in?

Do I quit on them when they struggle and rationalize it as ‘they don’t want it bad enough’?

Do I make sure they get the directions and make sure they understand them?

Could I be a lot more patient when I have a rep on the phone and they are not ‘up to speed’?

Am I as willing to answer the same questions over and over?

Do I teach skills or just keep selling the dream?

Mom never quit setting an example of excellence, even when people were not looking.

Never.

She never asked me to do anything she was not doing herself.

She was never a ‘do as I say, not as I do’ Mom.

She never quit on me.

Do I set an example of excellence?

…..even when others are not looking?

Do I dog it and tell others what to do even though I am not doing it myself?

Am I a ‘do as I say, not as I do’ managing MLMer?

Do I quit on myself and others with the lie that tomorrow I will double up?

My Mom had to quit school and take care of her brothers and sisters when her Mom died.

Got her GED in her 50s.

Went to college, studied hard and graduated with highest honors in her 60s.

She was excused from her finals her last year.

Always prepared.  Well in advance.

Do I have pride in my profession and performance or do I look for the easier, softer way and pretend I am ‘working smarter, not harder?’

Am I prepared to succeed to the point that I know that I will?

Manners.

Please and thank you, no elbows the table.

Listen first. Ask for permission to speak, don’t take it.

Respect their needs, forget your wants.

Never talk about people that are not present.

It’s OK to disagree but don’t be disagreeable.

Honesty is the greatest of all manners.

Do I have manners?

Do I belittle people mentally or with other reps who do not join?

Do I tell people why I am calling or ‘pretend to be their friend’ so I can use their words against them later to look?

Do I ask if it is OK to tell them about my business?

Am I focused on their needs or just trying to scare them about the future?

Do I listen? Do I take a ‘no’ as graciously as a ‘yes’?

Am I honest?

Never stopped looking for the extra mile.

We have a chance to do this for others everyday AND get paid for it.

My Mom is 89, legally blind and needs help.

Told her she has 2 choices.

Assisted living or move 6000 miles from Massachusetts to Kauai, HI and live with us.

She’s was living in the town she was born in.

Mom says she’s scared.  Says she’s used to where she lives.  Knows where everything is and it’s comforting.

She packed and she’s here in Kauai.

Courage.  Mom’s have courage.

Picking up the phone takes some courage.  At least we like to pretend it does.
 Not as much as moving 6000 miles to a place you’ve never been to at 89 and blind.

Do I lack courage or am I just lazy?  Mom’s are not lazy.

Rejection? Mom never accepted any obstacle as a reason to let fear determine her life.

Santa Januszewski will be 89 on October 12, 2010.  
Columbus Day. How appropriate. :) She still has the guts to explore.

Networking allowed me to step up and doing something special for myself and our Mom.

I wonder how much sooner great things would have happened in the lives of others if I had not made the mistake of thinking Mon knew nothing about Network Marketing?

Like a little boy, I foolishly thought my business was so different that she’d never understand it,

Turns out she knew everything IMPORTANT about it before I was born.

Yes, we all know. The 3 Gaps That Undermine Action and Success In Networking Marketing
So why is there not more ‘action’ with our groups….and with ourselves?
If it’s that simple, when do we stall or even stumble?
Gaps.

Therefore, make a plan, which is an approach that defines actions to be taken. Thus, the general strategies for MLM, to get what they want, the objective is to earn $ 10,000 per month.
What you need to do is form a group to receive adequate representation to win $ 10,000 …. So that’s the strategy or plan.
You know what you want?
Some styles representative is required to get $ 10,000?
When we know that we can move the focus from the “plan” or what I like to call tactics.
Very simple in our business to realize that and we need to do.
Gaps
Sounds simple enough, and indeed it is.
We all know that we will make money, we need to talk to people.
That is the skill and ability of marketing network is all about communication.
Simplified … … with the exception of the gap. UT-Oh. 
There are three areas that could work.
Knowledge gap

1 ~ Knowledge Gap
There may be differences in what we know and we NEED TO KNOW.
If there are gaps in the plan and then do not lead to desired results. And the network today, worse than ever. Every Tom, Dick and Harry expert …. And people try to learn faster, browse the web and listen to a lot of things that sounded like ‘the answer’.
He spoke with a pretty girl for a while for a woman my representative for the group. He is a MLM coach said he was looking for a deal. I went to the place as he spoke. Looks great.
Really good conversations … .. He is an expert and, in my 20 years I have not seen a girl more suited to my group, “experts” and the company.
Which is almost 3 months. He has several hundred start.
At least not yet.
An expert.
Every person is a teacher and no, I do not place the pulpit here.
No wonder the reps confused.
The enemy is a combination of their representatives want to go faster [well] and the media who are looking for a shortcut – the web – a bad thing. No, the Internet is not bad …. But the confusion created with impunity by self-anointed experts and self appointed.
Bridging the gap one 
As a leader, you must be a student …. People, attitudes and skills of network marketing. In other words, communication.
It’s really the key for the 3 areas of the gap may occur.
If people do not know what to do, they’ll go get them, who could blame
Tell them you and line up has a financial interest in them and keep them in a cocoon with confidence, but not the control.
How?
Work on the 3-Deep patterns in their organizations. When working the 3-Deep, teach network marketing skills by doing it with them.  Skills get results, results get you trusted.

1. Professionals have a bias in the results.

If you think you can, you can?

You are very familiar with this phrase: If you believe you can, you can. More so if you have a team called Master Key Master Mind Alliance.

The problem for most people is that it works just as simple to reverse. If you do not believe you can, you will not be doing tasks that you must do to be successful, or do it pretty consistently. As it says in Proverbs 23:07. . . As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

What is your opinion of yourself is important. Your mind is very strong. This is actually a container that carries both a good thing or a bad thing. Remove all thoughts and self-talk is not productive towards your success. Feed the hearts and minds of the things that make a positive difference in your life. 

If you find yourself stuck, making excuses or procrastinating, your belief in yourself to succeed is very small. Your confidence always appear on your actions, or inaction. You have the mindset of the amateur and little faith in yourself, if you do not perform tasks that you need to do to be successful. Works on believing in yourself and learn to develop professional habits. Personal development growth should continue your journey toward success.Some of you may already have years of negative programming from others that have made you believe at some level of success is not meant for you. This is my situation. All I hear around me for years is negative, narrow-minded talk. I feel like there’s always something that contains work with me, hold me back, and stopped before I even had a chance to really begin. And I’m sick of it. . . really fed up.

I have accepted that negative programming from others as my truth. It formed my beliefs about myself and what I can accomplish. It’s very limiting, to say the least. But that’s not the truth, it is rubbish.

Several years ago, when I lay in bed I felt lost, God spoke two words to me. He said, “Read Proverbs.” No, that’s it. I know now who told him that because I have to change the negative course in the real truth. I need my facts as the basis for success. The Book of Proverbs is a book of wisdom. It was written by the richest man who ever lived, who probably knew about MKMMA.

When I read Proverbs every day, my beliefs about myself and my ability to successfully begun to change. I have the wisdom and knowledge. Internal struggle that I have known for years, is not there anymore. This, of course, does not mean I do not have to learn, work, and try my business. This means that I do not stand in the way of its own success.

Now when I hear people make negative or small-minded comments, I do not accept what they say as having anything to do with me. Remembering those who closely associate with. Do they lift you up or bring you down? This is encouraging and happy when you succeed or they try to take you back to those negative circumstances? Just know that it would be very helpful for you to be around positive people, as much as possible, of course. 

Apart from Proverbs, a very good book to read is “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Many people use this book to really change their lives. I can not overemphasize what a treasure this book really is.

Do you live by default, live it by design. The price of freedom, the mind is alert, and give yourself what has been given freely. If you want your life to change, go someone else to change. Keep connected with great people from MKMMA.
